Dog Attack Warning

On Monday 1/14, my husband was running our dogs on his usual route, up 26th to Safeway on Roxbury, and back home. Near Shorewood Grocery a Pitbull got away from it's owner, came from behind and leaped onto our Goldendoodle's back. The attack was vicious, lasted several minutes, and left my husband with a broken bone in his hand, and our dog with several puncture wounds to his neck and ears. Apparently the dog belongs to a homeless individual who lives in the area. PLEASE be cautious when walking this route. The individual walks his dog on a rope.
